Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua Fight Creates Record That Will 'Never Be Broken'

Jake Paul was convincingly beaten by Anthony Joshua.

The fight between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua has created a record that will 'never be broken'.

Last Friday, all eyes were fixated on the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida, as YouTube sensation Paul continued his professional boxing career against two-time world champion Joshua.

Heading into the fight, Paul was given a slim chance of victory, with many expecting Joshua to dispatch the American in the early stages.

However, Paul managed to last six rounds before Joshua landed a huge right hand to seal a win via TKO.

During the fight, it was spotted that Paul was essentially hugging Joshua to prevent the Brit from landing any punches.

According to social media user AFeldmanMMA, Paul made 13 takedown attempts against AJ, which has been labelled as a record that will 'absolutely never be broken'.

He wrote: "Wild stat: Jake Paul shot 13 takedown attempts against Anthony Joshua while landing just 16 total punches. A boxing record that will absolutely never be broken. Takedown attempt number 9 seemed to be when AJ had finally had enough."

In boxing, the act of clinching is an unofficial strategy used to help recover, disrupt punches or control their opponent.

During the aftermath of the fight, it was revealed that Paul had suffered a broken jaw.

The American YouTuber said: "I think my jaw is broken. But that was good, I'll come back and get a world championship belt at some point. We will heal the broken jaw, come back and fight people my weight. I'm going for the cruiserweight world title.

"I'm going to take a little break. I've been going hard for six years. I'll take some time off. This is amazing."

Taking to social media on Saturday, Paul stated that he has successfully had surgery, but will have to make a big change for the next seven days.

Paul wrote: "Just got out of surgery. Everything went smooth. Thanks for all the love. Lots of pain and stiffness. Gotta eat liquids for 7 days.

"S/o to the amazing team at Miami University hospital. Everyone was so gracious and caring. @ArmaniiJayy took amazing care of me with @iam_loriv."
