Eddie Hearn has issued a statement after Anthony Joshua was injured in a fatal car crash that killed two people in Nigeria.
Joshua, who has family roots in Sagamu, a town in Ogun State, south-west Nigeria, was involved in the accident on the busy Ogun–Lagos state highway at around 11am on Monday (December 29).
The vehicle carrying Joshua, a Lexus Jeep, collided with a stationary truck under circumstances that are still being investigated, according to Nigerian newspaper Punch.
An eyewitness, named as Adeniyi Orojo, spoke to Punch about the incident and claimed a Lexus SUV and a Pajero SUV were involved in the crash.

"Joshua was seated behind the driver, with another person beside him," he said.
"There was also a passenger sitting beside the driver, making four occupants in the Lexus that crashed. His security detail was in the vehicle behind them before the crash.
"Other eyewitnesses and I began the rescue and flagged down oncoming vehicles to assist. A few minutes after the crash, officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps arrived."
Orojo added: "The passenger beside the driver and Joshua died on the spot."
The heavyweight boxer, 36, was pictured sitting topless at the back of a car. Footage from the site also shows Joshua grimacing in pain as he attempted to exit the car wreckage.

Local authorities have since confirmed that Joshua is doing "fine" after being taken to a local hospital to be treated for minor injuries, as per the BBC.
The identities of the two individuals who have died after the tragic incident remain unclear at this time.
Eddie Hearn, Joshua's promoter, has issued a statement after the accident. "I am away on a family holiday and awoke to the news of this incident," he told the Daily Mail.
"We are trying to contact Anthony and in the meantime we don’t want to speculate on how he is but thankfully he appears OK from what I have seen in the images."
Hearn added: "We are awaiting more information on what has happened and will update in due course."
Lanre Ogunlowo, a local police commissioner, has confirmed that an investigation into the accident has been ordered.
Just hours before the crash, Joshua took to Instagram to share a video of himself playing table tennis alongside the caption: "@healthy_mindset dishing out table tennis smoke."
