George Kambosos Jr has opened up on his world title fight preparations, confirming that he's done a whopping 250 rounds with boxing royalty Manny Pacquiao.

The Australian boxer has a chance to make history when he goes toe-to-toe with Teofimo Lopez in a bid to become the unified lightweight champion of the world.

Still only just 27 years of age, Kambosos Jr has quickly emerged as one of the best boxers on the planet and his performances inside the ring has drawn the attention of some big-name figures in the sport - Pacquiao being one of them.

The legendary Filipino hired Aussie as his sparring partner for his own title preparations back in 2017 and it's those valuable minutes spent with arguably one of the greatest of all-time which has helped shape Kambosos Jr into the machine he is today.

"Manny Pacquiao is a legend of the sport," Kambosos Jr told 7 News.

"To do 250 rounds with him - over three world title campaigns - it got me to that point where I know what I have to do for my world title fight and here we are.

"We're now fighting for a world title. It's crazy because I'm obviously fighting for every single belt and we never expected it to go this way but when you work hard and you put everything into it then they come your way.

"Doing the rounds with him (Pacquiao) - being around him and seeing the one per cent things he does - that's an invaluable experience. You can't put a price on that."

Kambosos Jr's title fight against Lopez has since been moved to June 19 and will still take place at loanDepot Park in Miami.

"Absolutely 100 percent, I am leaving with those belts," Kambosos told Yahoo Sports following news of the date change.

"There are holes in his game and things I will be able to take advantage of and you will see that on June 19."
