Chelsea and Tiemoue Bakayoko are set to part ways as he will terminate his contract and end his AC Milan loan amid interest from Newcastle United and Monza, according to reports.

The midfielder is entering the second season of his two-season loan at the San Siro, but has failed to nail down a first team spot.

As his side won the Serie A last campaign, Bakayoko made just 14 appearances in the league and 18 in all competitions.

There was much speculation regarding his future, with it believed that AC Milan would look to terminate his loan deal.

However, going into the 2022/23 campaign, Bakayoko remained on loan at the San Siro.

He was set for crunch talks back in July over his future, with the midfielder remaining in Italy.

It now appears that his future is set to be resolved, with his time at both AC Milan and Chelsea coming to an abrupt end.

As revealed by Luca Bendoni and Gianluca Di Marzio, Bakayoko is now on the verge of terminating both his loan spell in Milan and contract with Chelsea.

This should be confirmed on Wednesday morning, with Chelsea looking to get rid of their fringe players.

The Blues have already terminated Ross Barkley's contract this week, with the 28-year-old becoming a free agent ahead of transfer deadline day.

In a statement released by Chelsea, they revealed: "Ross Barkley has left Chelsea by mutual consent and becomes a free agent."

The same will most likely happen with Bakayoko, who like Barkley, would have seen his contract expire in 2023 either way.

The report continues to reveal that the French midfielder has more interest than Barkley did, however.

It is believed that Bakayoko will now join either Newcastle or Serie A new boys Monza.

It is unclear as to where he would prefer to go, but becoming a free agent would allow Bakayoko to take his time to make a decision.

He will not be restricted to move to a new club by the time the transfer window closes, with free agents allowed to move outside this restraint.

It remains to be seen as to where Bakayoko will join next, but he is set to put an end to his time at Chelsea and AC Milan after underwhelming spells.
