Tiemoue Bakayoko Set For Crunch Talks Over Chelsea And AC Milan Future

Tiemoue Bakayoko Set For Crunch Talks Over Chelsea And AC Milan Future

Tiemoue Bakayoko faces an uncertain future at Chelsea this summer.

Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to have crucial talks over his future at AC Milan amid his disappointing loan spell from Chelsea, according to reports.

The Frenchman initially signed for the Blues from AS Monaco back in 2017, but he has been unable to consistently feature in the first team ever since.

He joined Milan on loan in a two-year deal last summer but after just one season at the San Siro, where he also played back in the 2018/19 campaign, it appears as though he could be on his way back to Stamford Bridge.

Although he played just 14 games for them in the Serie A last season, he was still able to collect a winners’ medal as they won the title for the first time since 2011.

However, his time at the club could be soon coming to an end.

According to CalcioMercato, one of the 27-year-old’s representatives is in Milan and will hold talks with the club over his future.

It is thought that he ‘no longer’ has a place in the squad at his current loan club, despite him having one year left on the deal from Chelsea.

This means that Milan will have to work with the Blues in order to find a solution to the problem, with Bakayoko wanting a ‘new adventure’.

There will be talks in the coming days between the parties in order to resolve the issue, but it is thought that while such discussions may not be easy to complete, those involved will be working towards ‘the same purpose’.

Previous reports revealed that there is a belief he will leave the San Siro this summer and even though he will initially return to Chelsea, he will leave his parent club ahead of the new season.

There is an option to buy in his deal with Milan, but this is now likely to not be activated amid a poor season at his loan side.

A return to the Blues would see him compete with many a midfielder for a spot in Thomas Tuchel’s squad next season, with the likes of N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Jorginho all regularly playing for the side.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek also impressed last term, and the club will be welcoming back Conor Gallagher after his successful loan spell at Crystal Palace.

Barcelona midfielder Frankie de Jong has now been linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, with Chelsea ready to rival Manchester United for his signature.
