Chelsea have reportedly turned down approaches from several top clubs, including Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Manchester City, for a player deemed 'untouchable' by Xabi Alonso.
It is expected to be another busy summer for those behind the scenes at Stamford Bridge as they prepare for a new era under Alonso.
Before agreeing terms to become the new Chelsea manager, the Spaniard was keen to seek assurances over the club's transfer strategy and coach's authority, according to a report from ESPN.
And part of that strategy, it seems, is to keep hold of academy graduate Josh Acheampong.

The 20-year-old defender, who has made 30 appearances in all competitions for Chelsea this season, is attracting interest from a host of clubs. In fact, the Blues have turned down multiple approaches over the past six months.
Liverpool and Manchester City have made enquiries, according to a report from TeamTALK, which claims Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Juventus have also expressed an interest.

However, Chelsea have rejected all of those approaches. They consider Acheampong 'untouchable' and someone who can play a significant role going forward, with that belief only strengthened since Alonso’s arrival.
A separate report from the BBC suggests Arsenal, Newcastle, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace are also monitoring the defender's situation.
Acheampong, who joined Chelsea's academy as an under-8, penned a five-year deal at Chelsea in 2024, but it remains unclear as to whether he is looking to leave the club.
Former Chelsea manager 'fell in love' with Acheampong during spell
Last year, after Acheampong featured for Chelsea in their 3-0 win over Legia Warsaw, former manager Enzo Maresca said he was “in love” with the academy graduate following another composed display.
"The one that I fell in love with is Josh Acheampong because for me, potentially, he can be a fantastic player, a top player for this club, and for football in general.
"A good player shows you they can play in different position and do good. He was a full back, good, midfielder, good, central defender, good, so it’s not about ‘I play in that position or in that position’ — if you are a good player you can be in different positions.
“To be honest, since we started, I’m in love with him but (against Legia) he showed that he can be a very good player for this club.”
