The Carabao Cup third round draw will take place on Wednesday night and Thomas Tuchel's Chelsea will find out their opponents as they enter the competition for the 2022/23 season.

Chelsea went all the way last season to reach February’s final but were denied on penalties as Liverpool came out victors at Wembley.

Tuchel is yet to win a domestic trophy since his arrival at Chelsea having lost three finals at Wembley - two in the FA Cup and the other being in the Carabao Cup.

He will be hoping for a change of fortune in 2022-23 as their Carabao Cup journey gets underway on the week commencing 7 November.

When is the draw?

Date: Wednesday 24th August 2022

When? The draw will take place following the conclusion of the second round fixture between Tranmere Rovers and Newcastle United which get underway at 7.45pm (UK).

The draw will be live on Sky Sports, for UK viewers, and on the relevant social media channels.
