Todd Boehly Holds 'Business Meeting' With Agent For Striker Amid Transfer Interest

Todd Boehly Holds 'Business Meeting' With Agent For Striker Amid Transfer Interest

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has held a ‘business meeting’ with the agent of highly-rated RB Salzburg attacker Benjamin Sesko.

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly has held a ‘business meeting’ with the agent of highly-rated RB Salzburg attacker Benjamin Sesko, according to reports.

Thomas Tuchel's side are still eyeing up targets to fill the number nine spot at Stamford Bridge and they look to have identified the 19-year-old as a target.

Sesko put in a wonderful display against Liverpool in a friendly match, he scored and his all-round performance was excellent.

This has sparked a lot of interest from European clubs and Manchester United are reportedly keen to bring him in.

Unfortunately, the clubs that are after him could have a difficult time in completing a transfer for Sesko, as Salzburg will have the final say over a move.

The striker signed a deal with the club last summer that would see him stay with them until 2026.

The Austrian side have also already lost the services of Karim Adeyemi, who completed a €30 million transfer to Borussia Dortmund.

They see Sesko as a potential successor to the German who was the team’s highest scorer last season.

Should Chelsea want to acquire the Slovenian, they would have to fork out a fair amount of cash for a relatively unproven youngster.

Chelsea’s potential interest has stemmed from reports in Slovenia that Boehly held a meeting with the player’s agent, Elvis Basanovic at the weekend.

While Basanovic did not confirm the meeting, he made it known he was on a business trip through his own posts on social media.

The Blues have strengthened their attack this summer after acquiring Raheem Sterling but still need to make further additions.

Tuchel knows his side have a long way to go to decrease the gap to Manchester City and Liverpool and has recently made an ‘urgent appeal’ for improvements.

Having lost Romelu Lukaku, who returned to Inter Milan just a year after his stellar £97.5 million move to Chelsea, the west London side have been left with few options up top.

Currently the head coach has a selection of Kai Havertz, Michy Batshuayi, Armando Broja and Timo Werner, with the latter heavily linked with a move away this summer.

Sesko may not have the experience to take on a lead role at Chelsea, but scoring 12 goals in a total of 39 appearances for Salzburg, he could be a good investment for the future.

He would provide further depth to a depleted attack and could be an excellent option for Tuchel to have at his disposal.
