Chelsea fans spotted an awkward moment between club co-owner Todd Boehly and his wife during their side's 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace.

The Blues opened their Premier League campaign with a goalless draw against Oliver Glasner's side, in a game that did not have many clear-cut chances.

Eberechi Eze had a free kick goal for Palace controversially disallowed in the first half after team-mate Marc Guehi was adjudged to have been too close to the defensive wall at the point the ball was struck.

Young Brazilian winger Estevao was bright on Premier League debut for the Blues as a second-half substitute, but Chelsea only had three shots on target and will hope to improve.

The American has presided over another summer of big spending as Chelsea prepare for a campaign in the Champions League.

Joao Pedro and Liam Delap have provided striking reinforcements, with the Blues spending over £100 million to sign the pair from Brighton and Ipswich respectively.

Winger Jamie Gittens has arrived from Borussia Dortmund for an initial £48.5 million, along with left-back Jorrel Hato from Ajax for £35.5 million.

Towards the end of the Palace clash, Boehly was spotted on his phone in the directors' box - with some fans joking that he was looking for more signings.

He was sat alongside his wife of 27 years, Katie - and the pair were involved a humorous moment.

While looking at his phone, the TV cameras focused on the pair, with Boehly's wife appearing to tell him to 'get off your phone'.

Boehly promptly looked away from his phone and across towards her, before they engaged in conversation.

Reacting to the clip, one fan wrote: "He saw that Gusto shot and went to the market immediately."

A second said: "Bro is trying to sign a new CB."

And a third noted: "Incredibly funny that after being told he's on the telly, he then decides his best plan of action will be to strike the most bored-looking pose he can muster."
