Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson says he will take action over huge error made on his botched waxwork

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson says he will take action over huge error made on his botched waxwork

The Rock has commented.

WWE and acting icon Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has criticised a major error made on his new waxwork figure - and confirmed he will be contacting the museum that is showcasing it.

Over the years, pretty much every high-profile celebrity has had a waxwork created of them - with some better than others.

Former England, Real Madrid and Liverpool forward Michael Owen was the subject of an unrecognisable waxwork, while replicas of F1 icons Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton didn't exactly carry the likeness of their real-life counterparts.

Now, a new waxwork of The Rock has appeared at the Grevin Museum in Paris.

The WWE legend and 'Fast and Furious' star is wearing a blue T-shirt and navy trousers in the design, with a hint of a smile as he crosses his arms.

Fans mocked the figure on social media, pointing out its lighter skin colour.

Resharing a video in which social media comedian James Andre Jefferson Jr criticised the look of his waxwork - comparing it to David Beckham - The Rock commented: "For the record, I'm going to have my team reach out to our friends at Grevin Museum in Paris, France, so we can work at 'updating' my wax figure here with some important details and improvements, starting with my skin colour."

Jefferson had earlier said: "That's how Paris think he look. They turned The Rock into a pebble.

"It look like The Rock ain't never seen the sun a day in his life. Whoever the artist is, don't need to do no type of art."

On Monday, the museum's director confirmed that staff would 'work all night' between Monday and Tuesday to update the waxwork.

In a statement, Yves Delhommeau told AFP: "Crews will work through the night to ensure the likeliness is more in keeping with the expectations of his fans.

"We're also going to reconfigure the lighting because there was a lighting issue that was having the effect of lightening his skin."

He has invited The Rock to visit the museum to view the waxwork once it is updated.
