Stone Cold has had his say.

Stone Cold Steve Austin left out Conor McGregor as he named the two UFC stars he would most like to see compete in the WWE.

With stars including Brock Lesnar, CM Punk and Ronda Rousey all interchanging between both businesses over the years, McGregor is the latest name to have drawn speculation.

However, six-time WWE champ Austin left out the Irish star when indicating which UFC stars would be a perfect fit to make the transition.

"If I'm going right now, I'm going Sean Strickland," Austin said in an recent interview with ESPN.

"I like Sean Strickland. Boy, he stays economical in the Octagon. But what a promo!

"Then I go Colby Covington. All the trash talk talk, all the athletic ability. Guy never runs out of gas, he's always in shape.

"Talks a mean streak and can back it up. He's very exciting, he has that X factor that you always look for. He's double tough."

Strickland has been tipped on more than once occasion to venture into the WWE, given his no-holds-barred attitude regarding most topics.

Often seen making fun of people around him, his controversial character would be an easy fit.

Covington is another who like Strickland would also be a perfect fit, given his heel persona across the UFC.

Keen to play the bad guy at any opportunity, the 35-year-old still has time to venture in unfamiliar ground.

During a recent interview with ‘Submission Radio’, Covington insisted he would be potentially opener to trying his arm in the WWE.

“I couldn’t be more excited that, you know the, two of my first loves since I was a little kid and knew anything about combat sports are finally under the same umbrella together," he began.

"The UFC and WWE merger. So it’s amazing, man.

“It gets me so excited for my future. Like, not only am I going to unify my ‘King of Miami’ belt and go get the undisputed title this summer and beat fumble mouth Leon Edwards scissorhands.

"But I do see myself crossing over into the WWE and becoming a multi-champ.

"A multi-time world champion over there.”
