Raja Jackson has issued a plea after being charged in connection with the incident involving the wrestler Syko Stu.

Syko Stu, whose real name is Stuart Smith, was allegedly assaulted by Jackson, the son of UFC icon Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson, during an independent wrestling event in Los Angeles.

Back in August, Jackson entered the ring and an incident occurred between Jackson and Smith in the middle of the canvas.

According to the LA County District Attorney's Office, Jackson in appeared in court on Thursday, and pleaded not guilty to one count of felony battery that caused serious bodily injury and one count of misdemeanour battery.

It was reported that Smith was left with multiple injuries, including several lost teeth and a lacerated lip. Smith's wife later set up a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical expenses.

In an emotional statement last month, Smith's family confirmed that he has been released from hospital and was recovering.

It read: "Stuart has been released from the hospital and is now home resting. He sustained a serious head injury and was unconscious upon arrival at the ER.

"His injuries include trauma to both the upper and lower jaws, a laceration to his upper lip, and a fracture to the maxilla bone, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of several teeth.

"He has a long road of recovery ahead, but he remains in good spirits despite everything he has been through.

"We are deeply grateful for all the love and support we’ve received during this time. Thank you to everyone who has contributed in any way - whether through monetary donations, food, flowers, or gifts. Your kindness means more than words can express.

"From the bottom of my heart, thank you. With love and respect."
