WWE legend John Cena has been praised for his response to a fan who approached him while he was eating with a friend.

Back in July 2024, Cena made a surprise appearance at the Money in the Bank event, confirming his retirement from the ring in 2025.

Cena has been focusing much more on his acting career in recent years, which has seen him star in the Fast and Furious and Marvel franchises.

He also played Peacemaker in the hit 'The Suicide Squad' which earned him a spin-off TV series.

The range of acting roles that the 16-time WWE world champion plays means that he appears in a lot of different locations, and is often approached by fans.

However, back in 2023 one fan overstepped the mark and Cena made it very clear how he felt about the situation.

Cena responded to WWE fan

In a TikTok video, a fan walked towards Cena, who was sitting down with a friend, before asking him to perform his signature 'You Can't See Me' taunt from WWE.

The 'Doctor of Thuganomics', however, clearly wanted to be left alone at that particular moment, and replied: "Can I enjoy some time with my friends?"

The fan then apologised, to which Cena gave a smile and a nod before carrying on with his conversation.

And the WWE legend was praised by fans for how he dealt with the interruption.

One said: "How can you hate John Cena he's so chill."

Another wrote: "I know it's 'part of the profession', but I feel bad for people like him sometimes."

A third added: "We're all allowed a private life no matter who we are or what we do. John Cena is no different to any one of us in that respect."

"Least Cena was nice and polite about saying basically I would like to be left alone," a fourth fan stated.

Another fan, meanwhile, went at it from a slightly different angle: "I'd be walking in paying for his meal and thanking him for a great childhood this generation different."
