Hulk Hogan’s Son Launches Legal Action Over WWE Star's Sex Tape

Hulk Hogan's son filed the lawsuit on Tuesday, acting as the representative for the estate of his late father.

Hulk Hogan's son Nick has launched legal action on the behalf of his late father following a development in relation to his infamous sex tape.

Wrestling legend Hogan, real name Terry Bollea, died from a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida in July at the age of 71.

Medical records after his death revealed he was also battling from a form of leukemia.

Hogan is survived by his children Brooke and Nick, with the latter filing a lawsuit in a federal court in Florida court.

Hogan's former friend, radio host Bubba The Love Sponge, has said he is released a documentary titled, 'Video Killed The Radio Star: The Untold Story Of The Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Scandal' later this month.

But according to TMZ, Nick, acting for Hogan's estate, is suing to stop the release of the documentary. He alleges that Bubba, real name Todd Alan Clem, has used Hogan's trademarks without permission, has used unauthorised images from the sex tape and even included part of the clip in a recent trailer.

He also states that the release of the documentary would go against a settlement his father and Bubba agreed on in 2012 following the sex tape scandal.

What happened in Hulk Hogan's sex tape scandal?

A video of Hogan having sex with Bubba's then-wife Heather Clem was released by news and gossip site Gawker, with the former WWE and WCW champion stating he had no knowledge of the encounter being filmed nor did he consent.

He did claim that he slept with Heather with the consent of Bubba, who later testified that he burned the DVD and put it in a desk drawer.

The clip was shared with the headline, 'Even for a Minute, Watching Hulk Hogan Have Sex in a Canopy Bed is Not Safe For Work But Watch It Anyway'.

Both Bubba and Heather were sued by Hogan, who reached a settlement which included a fee of just $5,000 and an on-air apology.

Financed by billionaire Peter Thiel, Hogan launched a lawsuit against Gawker Media and was awarded $115 million following a 2016 trial which saw the jury rule the outlet were liable.

In the end Gawker agreed a $31 million settlement with Hogan, which included withdrawing their appeal and removing three articles from their website.

After they went bankrupt, Univision Communications bought Gawker Media's assets for $135 million.
