Logan Paul's insane Royal Rumble spot actually went wrong after he made a major mistake

Logan Paul's insane Royal Rumble spot actually went wrong after he made a major mistake

Paul and Ricochet broke the internet.

Logan Paul has revealed he made a mistake during his WWE return at the Royal Rumble and that viral spot with Ricochet.

'The Maverick' drew number 29 in the men's Royal Rumble match on Saturday evening, making his first appearance in the WWE since November.

Paul suffered a knee injury during his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship match against Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia.

He was expected to miss several months of action and be a doubt for WrestleMania in April. The Alamodome came unglued after hearing his theme song hit as he looked to punch his ticket to the main event of the Showcase of the Immortals.

Although he failed to win the match after being eliminated by eventual winner Cody Rhodes, Paul did manage to impress in his first Royal Rumble.

He eliminated former WWE Champion Seth Rollins before delivering an iconic moment with high-flyer Ricochet. He stood on the apron on one side of the ring while the ex-United States and Intercontinental Champion stood on the other.

The duo then springboarded into the middle of the ring, crashing into one another in midair. Both men deservedly went viral on social media after pulling off the insane athletic feat.

Paul discussed the spot with Rumble winner Rhodes during the latest episode of his IMPAULSIVE podcast, admitting there was a small slip-up.

He said: "The move was, we both do what’s called a springboard, which is when you jump, put your foot on the top rope, and use it as a trampoline bounce.

"By the way, when this move was pitched to me, I was like ‘is that possible?’ Generally, when I have that reaction it’s a good thing because if it is then it’s incredible."

The 27-year-old hit his head hard on the canvas after completing the move as he failed to tuck his chin as he took the bump.

Paul remarked that every wrestler he passed backstage reminded him to do it as he headed to the ring, but he forget in the heat of the moment.

He added: "Nina, my girlfriend, was worried for me because I hit my head. Cause we were all making jokes about it, cause I will like stuttering over my words, saying s**t twice.

"I just told her I just have to tuck my chin and then every wrestler I walked past on the way out was like, tuck your chin buddy. And then she was like, this is a thing and you knew it was a thing and you didn’t do it, you moron."

Paul is expected to face Rollins at WrestleMania after eliminating him from the Royal Rumble match.
