Man Attacks Teen In Gym For The Way He Deadlifts
It's hard enough doing deadlifts when there isn't some enraged idiot screaming in your face and assaulting you mid-lift.
That, sadly, is what happened to Charles Lalaonde, a teenager who was lifting at a Buzz Fit gym in Montreal, Canada.
And we thought Canadians were supposed to be friendly and nice! Well, there's always one, isn't there? As can clearly be seen in the video, Charles is minding his own business while working out, when some guy - who's not even an employee of the gym - accosts him for making too much noise.
The first thing he does is place his foot on the dumbbell bar as Charles tries to lift it again, sending the weights crashing to the floor. The random man, who clearly has a few anger management issues, then shoves Charles a couple of times and starts screaming at him to "Get out!"
Clearly rattled by the unprovoked attack, Charles complies as other members of the gym look on from a distance but don't intervene. The video was recorded by Charles' personal trainer, Pete Rupish, as Charles performed a deadlift of 350 pounds.

Posting the video on YouTube, Pete Rupish wrote: "The backstory is that the staff at a Buzz Fit gym in Montreal, Quebec have given my client a hard time in past weeks about deadlifting too loudly in the gym.
"They said he still could, but he had to place mats underneath the plates. So he did as they asked. A random bystander, not a staff member, (wearing an Animal shirt of all things: my sponsor) took it upon himself to confront him after he deemed his deadlifts to be too loud."
It's Charles who got the last laugh, however. Not only is he pressing charges against his assailant, but, according to an update posted by Rupish, has been given a free year-long membership to his 'dream gym in Montreal: SSP Barbell Club'.
Not only that, but the man who assaulted Charles has apparently been banned from that gym. As he should have been, because that was really an incredibly dangerous thing to do and he could have really injured Charles.
Thankfully, it all worked out, but seriously - what an arsehole.
