After a season for the Red devils which saw comical defensive errors, Manchester United are set to bolster their defensive options with growing confidence over an improved offer for Lisandro Martinez.

Since the arrival of Erik ten Hag, it has been seen that the transfer targets of Manchester United have primarily been those who the Dutchman has worked with prior to his arrival at Old Trafford.

The likes of Frenkie de Jong, Antony, Christian Eriksen and newly reported target Brian Brobbey, have all been rumoured to make the switch over to Manchester United.

It is clear that the transfer targets this window have been heavily influenced by none other than Erik ten Hag.

These transfer strategies set upon by Ten Hag and United have no exception to the potential signing of Lisandro Martinez. Martinez has been a player that has grown into the talent he is today with the help of the Dutch coach.

The Argentinian international has skyrocketed in the ranks of his respected national team and has also been a pivotal piece in Ajax’s footballing system winning trophies for both club and country.

He had an incredible season for Ajax last term, winning Rinus Michels award deeming the Argentine international as the Player of the Year for the club.

It has since been reported that Lisandro Martinez is eyeing a switch to the Premier League with Manchester United and Arsenal being the likely suitors.

After initial reports of Ajax declining offers from both United and Arsenal, last night saw reliable Dutch journalist Mike Verweij report on an increased offer from The Reds.

Their offer is close to the €50 million valuation which is close to Ajax’s valuation for Lisandro Martinez.

With the initial report from Mike Verweij stating that Ajax will hold a meeting today, discussing the offer from Manchester United, the news of this possible transfer has hit the English mainstream media.

Media outlet talkSPORT are now reporting that the Reds are confident that they will see this deal through.

It is also mentioned that the meeting set to be held by Ajax today to discuss the proposal and understand that the Red Devils are confident that their latest bid will be enough to convince Ajax to sell their prized asset.

Whether this bid will be accepted in time to see the Argentine international travel to Bangkok with the Manchester United side ahead of their pre-season tour, it has been reiterated that the Red devils are confident in the signing of Lisandro Martinez.

With today seeming like the day which may see further developments surrounding the signing of Lisandro Martinez, with Christian Eriksen all but complete pending a medical, Manchester United could secure their third signing ahead of a busy pre-season tour for Erik ten Hag.

Tyrell Malacia was announced earlier in the week as United's first signing.

Meanwhile, Christian Eriksen is set to have his medical soon, and then join up with the squad on tour.
