The two will face off for the lightweight title on April 18th, as long as their fifth scheduled fight is the one that goes ahead.

Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov look set to finally fight each other in April, with the news the American has signed his contract, and one YouTuber took a look into the future by simulating the fight.

There's been four previous occasions when Ferguson and Khabib were meant to face each other inside the octagon and on each occasion one or the other has had to drop out.

Now they'll be hoping the fifth time's a charm on April 18th when they meet at the Barclays Centre at what is likely to be UFC 249, although all the shows aren't confirmed yet.

One YouTuber took at look into the future by simulating the game on EA Sports UFC 3.

The simulation certainly came up with an interesting fight with a very surprise ending, with Ferguson handing Khabib his first ever loss, and taking the title.

That the American manages to tap out the Russian in the first round might be the most surprising aspect of the simulation.

El Cucuy does have eight submission wins in his career, of 25 wins, but the Eagle doesn't come across as the kind of man to tap easily, especially not in the first round, you'd imagine it would need several rounds of severe beating for him to give in.

Certainly if the simulation is to be believed it's going to be one hell of a topsy turvy five minutes but you can't help but feel we'll all be a little disappointed by only five minutes of action between the pair.

Back in the real world it's a fight that most will be excited by. After four attempts to get the fight on and with the title now on the line it's the next obvious defence for Khabib.

He Al Iaquinta for the title in April 2018, defended it against Conor McGregor in October last year and last fought against Dustin Poirier in September.

There is no doubt that Ferguson has earned his title shot, since losing to Michael Johnson in 2012 he has gone on a 12 fight winning streak and held the interim title for a short time before he was stripped of it due to injury.

If all goes well we'll finally find out if Ferguson can stop Khabib. If he can't then we'll be asking if anyone can.
