News of the whereabouts of the rearranged UFC 249 event has emerged, with reports saying the promotion are to host the show in Florida.

On Monday it was confirmed that the next four UFC events have been cancelled/rescheduled, including UFC 250 on May 9 in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

A day later and news broke that the rearranged event will be taking place on the aforementioned date. The report from ESPN's Brett Okamoto did not contain any details in terms of the location, but now MMA Fighting say UFC will be staging the pay-per-view in "the Sunshine State".

There's no word on the exact location, but it's reported that fighters will be flying into Jacksonville airport before they make the journey to the venue to compete.

In recent times WWE have been given the green light to run shows behind closed doors in Florida.

For the first time ever, Wrestlemania took place without any fans in attendance after it emanated from the company's performance centre in Orlando earlier this month.

UFC have also been deemed to be an essential business by governor Ron DeSantis as long as "the location is closed to the general public."

Originally slated to take place in Brooklyn, UFC 249 was then supposed to happen at the Tachi Palace Resort Casino in California prior to ESPN and Disney executives forcing a determined UFC president Dana White to pull the plug.

And with recent cancellations it could well be a quite incredible feast of fighting in store, with UFC targeting a monstrous card for the big return.

Some of the targeted fights include the rescheduling of Tony Ferguson vs Justin Gaethje, a bantamweight title fight between Henry Cejudo and Dominick Cruz and Francis Ngannou vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik in the heavyweight division.

The entire planned card can be found here:

Tony Ferguson vs. Justin Gaethje

Henry Cejudo vs. Dominick Cruz

Francis Ngannou vs. Jairzinho Rozenstruik

Jeremy Stephens vs. Calvin Kattar

Donald Cerrone vs. Anthony Pettis

Greg Hardy vs. Yorgan de Castro

Aleksei Oleinik vs. Fabricio Werdum

Carla Esparza vs. Michelle Waterson

Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza vs. Uriah Hall

Vicente Luque vs. Niko Price

Charles Rosa vs. Bryce Mitchell
