Negotiations for the huge fight between Kamaru Usman and Jorge Masvidal are "done" according to ESPN's Ariel Helwani.
Having been at odds with UFC president Dana White over a pay dispute, Masvidal immediately volunteered to take on the UFC welterweight champion at UFC 251 on July 12 on short notice after scheduled challenger Gilbert Burns tested positive for COVID-19.
And now it's said all terms have been agreed, with the two both jetting into Las Vegas. The only thing stopping the mouthwatering bout from going ahead is a positive coronavirus test from either of the pair.
Usman-Masvidal for the welterweight strap on the dunes of Abu Dhabi is a considerably more exciting prospect than the scheduled defence against Burns, so here's hoping the duo are both free of COVID-19 and free to put on a show inside the Octagon on 'Fight Island'.

After all, there's serious animosity between Usman and Masvidal, particularly following their heated altercation at a Super Bowl media day back in January when they had to be pulled apart in Miami.
