And 'The Last Stylebender' aimed his attack on Romero's right leg, hacking away at it during their main-event clash in Las Vegas.

The Nigerian-born Kiwi landed a few brutal leg-kicks to devastating effect, and a picture taken by Esther Lin of MMA Fighting shows just how bad his leg looked.

Adesanya reacted to his work by posting a message on social media. He tweeted: "rOmERo iZ MadE oF STelL!"

Speaking to Joe Rogan after the fight, Adesanya said: "The legs don't lie. I f***ed his leg up."

UFC president Dana White, meanwhile, blamed Romero for the lackluster show.

"I do (think it was Romero's fault)," he said. "He literally went out and stood in the middle of the... when the bell rang in the first round, just stood there with his hands up. You know what I mean?

"You're going in and facing the world champion. This is your last shot at a championship. You shouldn't even be here getting this title fight.

"It should be Paulo Costa. If he didn't get hurt, you don't even get this opportunity. You go in, and you do everything you can to win that fight. He literally did none of that."

The victory moves Adesanya to 19-0 including eight victories inside the famed Octagon, while Romero has now lost four of his last five fights and is 0-3 in official title fights.
