Conor McGregor has immediately fired back at Khabib Nurmagomedov after the UFC lightweight champion responded to his Tweet about Dana White's "man" claim.

The UFC president claimed that Nurmagomedov "is the man now" and "calls the shots". McGregor swiftly responded to his comment by posting a message on social media.

"Who's not the man? Your man had that marquee event did he? More like an event in a marquee. A tent in the fucking sand it was. Keep spoofing to your self horse. Jock strap sniffer championships," he wrote on Twitter.

The undefeated-Dagestani wasted no time in responding to his post by aiming a dig at his former foe.

He uploaded a message in Russian which translates to "This is a fiasco wino" - an apparent swipe about McGregor being an alcoholic.

McGregor then hit back with a Tweet composed in Russian which translates to "See you in Moscow, p*ssy".

A rematch between Nurmagomedov and McGregor continues to be mooted but the 31-year-old Russian fighter isn't interested in running it back, and he's also not ready to shake his hand.

"I'm not ready to shake [McGregor's] hand right now," he said when asked about his UFC rival.

"I'm not, you know everyone makes mistakes. There are no perfect people, everyone has flaws. I have flaws and so does he, everyone has flaws.

"When a person continues to behave this way, it means that it's his nature. We saw that he recently hit a 70-year-old man. It shows a lack of morality and manners... His overall level. So, I'm not ready to shake his hand, unless he realises something."

However, Nurmagomedov would accept an apology - saying that apologies always have to be accepted no matter the situation.

"Apologies always have to be accepted no matter what he said. If a person apologises and accepts his mistakes, we have to excuse him," he added.

"From a fighter's point of view, it is a thing of the past, I have nothing to prove."
