Conor McGregor seemed to hit back at UFC boss Dana White in a social media rant on Saturday.

The Irishman sent an angry tweet that appeared to be aimed at the UFC supremo and Khabib Nurmagomedov and a recent interview of his this week.

McGregor's tweet on Saturday morning read: "Who's not the man? Your man had that marquee event did he? More like an event in a marquee. A tent in the f**king sand it was. Keep spoofing to your self horse. Jock strap sniffer championships."

The hostile tweet seemed to be aimed at White, who spoke to the Boston Globe this week about the prospect of a rematch between McGregor and his Russian rival Khabib.

"Khabib is the man now," White said. "Conor isn't the man anymore, so Khabib gets to sit back and call the shots."

Those words look to have angered McGregor, who hasn't fought in the octagon since his defeat against Khabib in Las Vegas in October.

Unbeaten Khabib beat Dustin Poirier in September to defend his UFC lightweight belt and is widely considered the best fighter in the world today.

McGregor this week appeared to confirm that he'll return to the UFC against Frankie Edgar in December, while claiming he'll donate his whole purse to charity.

He and Edgar exchanged Tweets on Wednesday saying they're ready to fight one another before the end of the year.

The Irishman replied to a post from the UFC wishing Edgar a happy birthday.

"Happy birthday Frankie, see you in December," he wrote on social media.

Edgar swiftly responded by agreeing to meet the former UFC double champion while tagging Dana White.

"Thanks pal, I said yes already it's on you and @danawhite to make it happen," he said.

McGregor also said he'd donate his purse for the fight to charity.

"There you go White, make the bout. Give my purse to charity. First responders. One for All!" he added.
