Khabib Nurmagomedov's Old Tweet From Five Years Ago Resurfaces Following 'Street Fight' Claim

Khabib Nurmagomedov's old tweet from five years ago has resurfaced following his 'street fight' claim during the explosive UFC 249 pre-fight press conference.

Nurmagomedov and Ferguson were involved in a fiery press conference last Friday in Las Vegas to promote their highly-anticipated clash on April 18.

The UFC lightweight champion poked fun at Ferguson's claim to be a street fighter before exclaiming that he'd eat him in the streets.

Well, since his street fight comment, an old tweet has resurfaced on Twitter where he says he's not a street fighter.

"Last night I was confronted by 2 thugs. I'm a professional mixed martial artist. I'm not a street fighter," he wrote back in 2015.

Nurmagomedov stoked his rivalry with Ferguson ahead of their championship contest at UFC 249.

"Who are you?" The unbeaten Russian asked during the presser. "You've fought a few American guys. You've never fought in the streets. I'm from (Russia). I can eat you. What are you talking about?

"You're not from Mexico," he added. "You're not a real Mexican. You're a fake Mexican. First you say you're American, now you're talking about you being Mexican.

"Where are you from? Where are you from? You're not real Mexican. No, no, no, buddy, you're a California guy. You're not Mexican. These two are different."

Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson headlines a stacked UFC 249 card in Brooklyn, which also features a big women's strawweight clash between Jessica Andrade and Rose Namajunas, Jeremy Stephens vs. Calvin Kattar and Uriah Hall vs. 'Jacare', among others.
