Conor McGregor has reignited his fierce rivalry with Khabib Nurmagomedov on social media.

McGregor took to Twitter to hit back at Nurmagomedov's 'street fight' claim and slammed Islam Makhachev for his comment about Weili Zhang and Joanna Jedrzejczyk.

The Irishman first responded to Nurmagomedov's dig aimed at Tony Ferguson by sharing a picture of the UFC lightweight champion inside a bus during the infamous Brooklyn attack, accompanied with the words: "'Street fight.'"

He then unleashed a stinging attack on Nurmagomedov's teammate Makhachev, who tweeted: "This is not a woman's sport" following the incredible UFC 248 women's strawweight title clash.

"An absolute cretin. A Convicted Steroid cheat that will do anything to avoid impact and stall a fight, and then talks down on one of the greatest exchanges of combat ever produced by our female combatants. These little gremlins! It's back on. Filthy rats. Shame on the game," he wrote on Twitter.

Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, stoked his rivalry with his UFC 249 opponent Tony Ferguson by claiming he'd eat him in a street fight.

"Who are you?" The unbeaten Russian asked during Friday's pre-fight press conference. "You've fought a few American guys. You've never fought in the streets. I'm from (Russia). I can eat you. What are you talking about?

"You're not from Mexico," he added. "You're not a real Mexican. You're a fake Mexican. First you say you're American, now you're talking about you being Mexican.

"Where are you from? Where are you from? You're not real Mexican. No, no, no, buddy, you're a California guy. You're not Mexican. These two are different."

Nurmagomedov vs. Ferguson headlines a stacked UFC 249 card on April 18. McGregor, on the other hand, is in line to face the winner.
