It didn't take long for Khabib Nurmagomedov to react to the UFC 249 main event.
With the Russian unable to get back to the United States and his fight with Tony Ferguson nixed for a fifth time, Justin Gaethje stepped up to the mark with a stunning performance inside the Octagon.
'The Highlight' ended Ferguson's 12-fight win streak to become the UFC interim lightweight champion and be next in line for Khabib, 28-0 in MMA.
And the Dagestani fighter wrote, "No Comment" on Twitter immediately after seeing the bout stopped in the fifth and final round when referee Herb Dean decided Ferguson had taken just about enough punishment
'The Eagle' then praised Gaethje for his impressive display and "very smart" fight.
Gaethje, who secured his 24th victory in MMA, took his belt off almost right away and stated that he wanted "the real one" that Khabib has currently held since beating Al Iaquinta at UFC 223.

The Russian is one of the best in the world but based on what we saw tonight, you get the feeling that Gaethje has what it takes to hang with him.
Khabib vs Gaethje cannot come soon enough.
