Israel Adesanya and Paulo Costa shared a classy embrace following their championship main-event clash at UFC 253.

Adesanya brutally stopped Costa in the second round of their UFC middleweight title bout on 'Fight Island' last weekend.

After landing the finishing sequence, the Nigerian-born New Zealander dry humped his opponent while on the ground.

He was accused of bad sportsmanship after his crude gesture.

But fans may have missed Adesanya respectfully approaching Costa inside the Octagon before the official decision was announced.

He walked over and spoke to him, appearing to squash their beef.

Adesanya put on a clinic to defend his UFC middleweight title and speaking after his 20th pro MMA win, he said Costa was "slower" than he thought.

"He was slower than I thought," he told ESPN.

"I'm faster on TV as well, but in real life I could feel him, he was slow. He loads up on his kicks, he hit me in the ribs twice. Nothing. I ate that.

"He didn't touch me on the face once, still pretty. I could see him, I could see everything. And my skinny shins cut him open like a razor blade.

"I wanted round one or round four, that's what I thought," the 31-year-old added when asked how he expected the fight to play out.

"That I'd just slow cook him. But then by the second round I knew his leg was f**ked, he couldn't push off, he couldn't bridge. And I told you, he only fights human punching bags... that let him unload on them. I'm like bro, do I look like a punching bag to you? I'm not fat enough, I'm skinny, bro."

'The Last Stylebender' now boast victories over the likes of Kelvin Gastelum, Robert Whittaker and Yoel Romero.

He's eyeing Jared Cannonier as his next opponent should 'The Killa Gorilla' get past Whittaker next month at UFC 254.
