Former Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler's Octagon debut appears to be set with reports claiming he'll fight Dan Hooker at UFC 257.

Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier will headline the 'Fight Island' event on January 23 with another exciting lightweight bout the latest addition to the card.

According to New Zealand outlet Stuff, Chandler and Hooker have already agreed to fight each other with an official announcement expected in the coming days.

Chandler vs. Hooker is not only a brilliant co-main event, but they could also act as a back-up fighter for the main-event.

The report also suggests the fight sets up a four-man lightweight tournament with both winners potentially in line to face off against each other in the summer.

The American was snapped up by Dana White prior to UFC 254 and flew to Abu Dhabi to provide cover for Khabib Nurmagomedov or Justin Gaethje.

Of course, Nurmagomedov vs. Gaethje took place as 'The Eagle' submitted 'The Highlight' to defend his UFC lightweight title before retiring from MMA.

Chandler last fought in August when he stopped former UFC champion Ben Henderson at Bellator 243.

As for Hooker, the Kiwi star hasn't fought since his defeat to Dustin Poirier in June.

UFC 257 also includes a women's flyweight bout between Jessica Eye vs. Joanne Calderwood and Shane Burgos vs. Hakeem Dawodu as well as Umar Nurmagomedov vs. Sergey Morozov, among others.
