After a string of disappointing results, two fighters have been chopped from the Ultimate Fighting Championship card as Dana White pulled the trigger days after UFC 329.
True to its nature, the UFC is as brutal inside the octagon as it is outside of it; a Paddy Pimblett choke is just as likely and damaging as a culling from Dana White.
Following a dance in the garden at The White House, elite-level MMA returned with UFC 329, which was dominated by the short-lived comeback of Conor McGregor.
The Irishman's injury details have been revealed as he collapsed to the canvas in the opening three seconds of the fight against Holloway, with doctors pinpointing the exact movements that cause ACL tears.

McGregor's future in UFC is now up for debate, as another stint in recovery may prove too much, although he has insisted that he 'will return' to complete his 'final fight of the contract'.
Another two UFC stars now also face extended time outside of the top tier of fighting, as Dana White has culled both Michel Pereira and Sedriques Dumas from the official card.
Dana White calls time on Michel Pereira and Sedriques Dumas' UFC card
The biggest name to lose their card status in the last few years is Michel Pereira, having once boasted a 9-2 record until recently.
However, off the back of four losses in his last five fights, the UFC has called time on his career in the promotion after six years.
Now aged 32, Pereira suffered a loss in his final bout, losing by unanimous decision against Sharabutdin Magomedov in Baku.
The Brazilian MMA star once lit up the UFC cards between 2020 and 2024, stringing together eight consecutive fight wins, but having lost four times since, Dana White has dropped the fighter.
The second culling comes in the way of Sedriques Dumas, who joined the promotion in 2022 but has registered just three wins in nine fights (3-5, and one no contest).
Earning his last win in 2024 against Denis Tiuliulin, it's been two years since Dumas' hand was raised by a referee, and he recently suffered a loss to Jackson McVey in April.
Dumas' controversy outside of the ring was often a sticking point for Dana White and the UFC, having reportedly been arrested more than ten times since 2014, even having to cancel a fight at UFC 311 after being accused of felony home invasion robbery with a firearm, misdemeanour battery and felony possession of a weapon by a convicted felon in April 2025.
Both fighters can find their way back to the UFC card with miraculous career turnarounds, but with more movement expected in the coming weeks, it looks like Dana White is making room for fresh fighters.
