Katerina Siniakova stormed off the court in tears after a brutal loss in the opening round of the Miami Open.

Several of the biggest names in tennis are currently competing at the Miami Open in the Hard Rock stadium, with world no.1 Carlos Alcaraz topping the men’s draw, and Aryna Sabalenka the highest ranked women’s player.

Unfortunately, several other star players have been forced to withdraw from the event, including both Novak Djokovic and Emma Radacanu.

Among the those in action in the first round of the competition this week was Siniakova, a former world no. 1 in women’s doubles.

But things didn't exactly go to plan for the Czech player in her opening round, and she couldn't hold back her emotions.

In her opening match, Siniakova faced Colombia's Camila Osorio but failed to find form, as she lost the match in straight sets 6-1 6-4.

At the end of the match, the former doubles no.1 slipped to the ground, with Osorio immediately going over to make sure the 29-year-old was okay.

However, Siniakova quickly got up, shook the Colombian’s hand and then stormed over to collect her bags and shake hands with the umpire.

Osorio again checked in on her opponent, but the no.13 seed ignored her and walked off the court, with cameras showing her seemingly wiping tears away.

Addressing the moment, the commentary team asked: “They seemed to be besties about 30 minutes ago, what happened there?

“Osorio is one of the nicest players on the tour and she’s trying to go over just to see her and unfortunately things were just getting a bit emotional.

“Terrible way for this one to end.”

Brutally, the match was the second time that Siniakova has lost to Osorio recently, as the Colombian also beating her 6–2, 5–7, 6–3 at the Qatar Open last month.

And it wasn't the first time that the 2025 Wimbledon mixed doubles at winner has made headlines for drama on court, as Russia's Mirra Andreeva recently shouted "f*** you all" at the crowd during their meeting at Indian Wells earlier this month.

Tensions were high throughout the match as Andreeva threw her racket on several occasions, later smashing it, picking up a code violation in the process.
