Tennis star Ben Shelton was called out by girlfriend Trinity Rodman in front of the entire press room at the US Open.
In the early hours of Thursday morning American no.2 tennis player Shelton booked his place in the third round of the ongoing US Open major with a win over Pablo Carremo Busta.
The 22-year-old won the match 6-4, 6-2, 6-4 and will now face Adrian Mannarino in his next match on Friday.
However, his performance clearly wasn't enough to impress girlfriend Rodman who is also used to competing in sports at the top level as a key player in the US women's national football team.

And she wasn't afraid to let her boyfriend know exactly how she felt, as she embarrassed Shelton by asking a brutally honest question during his post-match press conference.

After the pair established themselves as two of the most promising American athletes, they announced that they were a couple back in March.
Of course, with the Open taking place in Queens, New York City, Shelton is one of the most popular players competing and Rodman made sure she was there to show her support.

But after her boyfriend's win over Busta, she decided to embarrass him by asking him if he was frustrated with his serve during the match, saying: "So how did it feel not being able to serve higher than 135 [mph] today?
"You like to serve big and it wasn’t breaking 140 [mph] today.”
Realising who had asked him the brutal question, Shelton immediately put his head into his hands before asking: "Why did you let her ask a question?”
Before finally replying: "It was cold outside, so I think that was the main reason. I was focused on hitting spots but I didn’t hit those spots. So maybe I should just serve bigger. It’s something."

Ahead of his second round match with Busta, Shelton spoke about is feelings towards dating a fellow high-performance athlete and how it has helped him learn about women's football in America.
“I think it’s really cool for both of us to be able to see each other in our respective sports and, you know, witness what it takes and how difficult it is to stay at the top,” the recent Canadian Open champion told Vogue.

“The soccer life, the US Women’s national team, it was all kind of new to me, and I’ve enjoyed the opportunity to get to know it - and to know more about her life in it.”
Rodman, who is the daughter of five-time NBA champion Dennis Rodman, claimed a gold medal while playing with the US women's football team at the Paris Olympic Games last summer.
