It is a major weekend for both rugby league and union, as in the former the World Cup is currently being played, and in the latter the current WXV Global Series is taking place, along with the Champions Cup and EPCR Challenge Cup.
Several fans will aim to show their know-how by placing bets on matches across these competitions, yet the ability to get everything right demonstrates incredible insight.
Now, for one punter, they have taken to social media to share their incredible winnings from just a £2 bet on fixtures across rugby league.

Punter turns £2 bet into thousands with outrageous bet
It is a major weekend for Rugby League as both the men’s and women’s World Cups have begun, with several nations hopeful they can lift the trophy at the end of it.
Both tournaments are taking place across three nations in Oceania: New Zealand, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
England may have already seen their hopes dashed in the men’s competition after a loss to Tonga, making it incredibly tough for them to qualify for the knockouts as they must win their next two fixtures and hope other results go in their favour.
Yet, that is not of any concern to this punter who put a £2 bet on the two tournaments, as they managed to name eight try scorers across four matches.
Now, while there were still two names left on their bet slip, who were set to play in a later match, they opted to cash out due to the winnings they had garnered from the bet.
As posted on X, formerly Twitter, the rugby tipster decided to cash out with the bet sat on £2112.97, incredible winnings from £2.
They can be thankful for the work of Naomi Kelly and Tia Molo in the Papua New Guinea and France match in the women’s tournament, along with Jasmine Strange and Connie Boyd in the England and Wales clash in the same competition.
While, it was Rhyse Martin and Gairo Voro from the Papua New Guinea and Lebanon clash, before Dominic Young and Haumole Olakau’atu touched down in the England and Tonga match in the men’s tournament.

The 2026 Rugby League World Cups
The two tournaments are the pinnacle of the sport as both the men and the women look to do their nation proud.
It is the seventeenth staging of the men’s tournament, while it is only the seventh for the women’s competition.
The favourites for the competitions are nations from Oceania, with home advantage being a major factor, but that will not stop Samoa and Tonga from believing they have a chance, along with England.
Only three nations have won the Men’s World Cup, with the biggest side being Australia, who have won 12, while Great Britain have won three, with New Zealand claiming one. So, the Aussies are major favourites for the competition again.
Then in the Women’s World Cup there have only been two winners, with both New Zealand and Australia claiming three each. So, each nation will be looking to claim bragging rights for this competition by lifting the trophy.
Australia have claimed the last three tournaments, but New Zealand will be confident as they have contested every final in the competition.
