The Cronulla Sharks have had varying levels of success over the past few seasons, but there’s no denying the unwanted record that’s been chasing them around.
As of 2023, the Sharks had lost seven consecutive finals games, despite a couple of top four finishes.
But there’s no denying that there was a culture shift in the Sharks the moment that NRL defensive specialist Craig Fitzgibbon took over at the helm of the side.

His goal was to put pride back in the jersey, and that’s showing from top to bottom for the blue and black.
This weekend is an incredibly busy rugby league affair for the Sharks as they’ll see four of their sides competing in their respective competitions.
The NRL side successfully broke their finals losing streak last week against the Cowboys and will face off against the Penrith Panthers for a spot in the 2024 Grand Final.
The NRLW Sharks have also been successful in making the top four in the women’s competition.

They’ll go head-to-head with the Broncos for a chance at glory for the first time in their history.
On top of that, the Sharks reserve grade feeder club the Newtown Jets have made it to the NSW Cup Grand Final and the Under 20s will face the Bulldogs in the Jersey Flegg Cup Grand Final.
The Sharks have experienced such huge levels of success this season, whether they claim gold or not.
It’s hard not to see that the Club is taking big steps in the right direction.
