Heart breaking scenes as the Phenom departs WrestleMania for the last time

Unless you've been cowering from social media all day, you'll now know that The Undertaker fought his last match, losing to Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania, last night.

'The Phenom' was defeated for only the second time in 25 outings at the 'Granddaddy Of 'Em All' and, in his own mystic way, departed from the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, leaving no one in any doubt that this was the last time we've seen 'The Deadman' in a WWE ring.

There were WWE officials who claimed the Undertaker's body was so beat up that he would start winding his career down as far back as 1997. Somehow, despite a succession of injuries, major surgeries and old father time creeping up on him, 'Taker continued to deliver memorable moments inside the squared circle for another two decades.

However, the last few years have seen 'The Deadman' reduced to annual cameo appearances for a marquee WrestleMania outing, supplemented by one or two guest spots on Raw, SmackDown or a Survivor Series or SummerSlam here and there.

Following his convincing defeat to Roman Reigns last night, 'Taker left behind his trademark trenchcoat, gloves and hat in the middle of the ring, with fans capturing the emotional goodbye.

There is currently no word as of yet as to whether The Undertaker will appear on Monday Night Raw tonight, although given the mystique of his exit, last night, it's doubtful we'll be seeing 'The Phenom' at the Amway Centre in Orlando in the same manner Ric Flair said his goodbyes from in ring competition after WrestleMania 24 in the same city, nine years ago.
