Meanwhile, Leerdam's country, the Netherlands are ninth after winning three golds.
One of them was won by Leerdam, who finished in first place in the women's 1000m speed skating event ahead of fellow Dutch athlete Femke Kok and Japan's Miho Takagi.
Taking to social media last week, Leerdam posted a video titled "Let's eat lunch together", taking fans around the food village available to athletes taking part in the Winter Olympic Games.
As shown in the footage, a wide range of different foods were on show, including a selection of proteins, vegetables, yoghurts, fruits and drinks.
On Leerdam's tray, pasta, pizza and bread were spotted.
After winning gold at the Winter Games, Leerdam paid tribute to boyfriend, American YouTube sensation turned boxer, Jake Paul.
As per BBC, she said: "I've been supportive, but I've not been able to go to his [Paul's] past fights because of skating. It would be nice to be there more.
"He has supported me a lot more and has come to many of my races, so I'm very grateful."
Leerdam added: "Also, my family - I'm just so grateful for the support system around me. It's amazing.
"This was really something that I was still missing. So, it feels very complete. It feels surreal."

Paul also paid tribute to Leerdam on social media after her stunning gold medal performance.
He wrote: "Reacting to the win, Paul wrote: "Juttttttttttaaaaaaaa. I can’t stop crying. You did it my love. Olympic Gold. God is great and so are you."
Looking ahead, Leerdam will be involved in the 500m event as she chases a second gold medal.
