Rihanna put on an incredible halftime show at Super Bowl LVII, after the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles produced an intriguing first half.
For most sports it's about what happens between those competing that really matters, at the Super Bowl it's just as much about the event as anything else.
That's no more evident than the fact they literally clear the entire pitch of anything to do with sport at half time, erect an entire stage and have a musical interlude.

On Sunday night at the State Farm Stadium it was the turn of Rihanna, with the Barbadian singer hoisted high above the stage on as platform to kick things off.
She started her set singing 'B*tch Better Have My Money' as the crowd below went wild and hundreds of dancers joined her on the platform and stage.
The 34-year-old hasn't done a live performance in over six years, and hadn't released any new music in that time until the end of last year.

She performed a medley of all of her biggest tracks and was also accompanied by a firework show at the end of her set, but there was no surprise guests, as is the usual tradition.
"Rih Rih! That was everything!! Sis did not disappoint!" Olympian Tiffany Porter said on social media.
"I think I'm going to need an hour to recover from that set, can't imagine how she feels!" journalist Nicky Bandini added.
After hearing all her best songs, another said, "Rihanna has SO MANY hits."

The Ringer writer Shea Serrano summed it up perfectly, posting, "cool as f**k. rihanna rules!"
On the fact there were no surprises another added, "RiRi is the best. No guest No skin Nothing fake or fancy."
And one other observed, "I really enjoyed that. Rih said she don’t need no special guest because she is the special guest."
All around it was a very popular performance from the artist.
She certainly had a hell of a performance to follow, after the opening two quarters had produced 38 points between the Chiefs and the Eagles.
The two sides had shared a touchdown each in the opening quarter, as they tied 7-7, but Nick Sirianni too charge in the second quarter, leading 24-14 before Rihanna's show.

After she'd wowed the crowd, both in the stadium and those watching at home, the players knew they now had a tough act to follow.
