NFL Fans Demand Immediate Rule Change as Philadelphia Eagles 'Ruin The Game'

NFL fans have demanded an immediate rule change following the Philadelphia Eagles match, with one fan claiming the team is 'ruining the game'.

The reigning Super Bowl champions fell to their second straight defeat, losing 34-17 to the New York Giants, just a week after they lost to the Denver Broncos.

It marks the first time in two years that the Eagles have suffered consecutive defeats.

It was an encouraging display for the Giants, as rookie Jaxson Dart delivered a strong performance after stepping in for Russell Wilson's withdrawal from the side.

Yet, while the Giants impressed, much of the post-match reaction focused on the Eagles use of the 'tush push' that they have used so successfully with Jalen Hurts.

The move sees the quarterback run forward, while teammates support him from behind to gain yards.

The Eagles scored their first touchdown of the night following a run of four consecutive tush push plays. However, fans and players have voiced frustration at the move.

Green Bay Packers linebacker Micah Parsons, who recently made a mega money move from the Dallas Cowboys, wrote on X: "This is not football."

Across social media, fans were just as vocal.

On X, @stoolpresidente wrote: "This is why tush push needs to be banned. Football is supposed to be entertainment. This ruins the game.

"No different than changing pass interference rules for more scoring.

Another, @TalkinGiants added: "Ah yes! The Tush Push False Start that doesn't get called!"

Earlier this year, NFL team owners voted against using the tush push.

The Green Bay Packers had put forward the proposal, but it fell two votes short of the 24-vote threshold required.

The original proposal 'prohibited an offensive player from pushing a team-mate who was lined up directly behind the snapper and receives the snap, immediately at the snap'/

It was later updated to include pushing or pulling a runner "in any direction at any time."

Despite the criticism, the Eagles have used the play regularly since 2022. Although other teams have tried the 'tush push' to varying degrees of success, Hurts has developed a knack for using it.

But fans on X have expressed frustration for the perceived over-reliance of the Eagles on the play.

One fan, @ChaseDaniel said: "Ok this is why the Tush Push needs to get banned. You ran it 4x in a row?

"This is exactly what the NFL doesn’t want."

Another, @h8erhood added: “The Eagles are lining up for a tush push," accompanied with a sleeping emoji.
