Rapper Drake shouted out pop star Taylor Swift before winning an enormous Super Bowl bet.

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs dramatically edged past the San Francisco 49ers, with Patrick Mahomes throwing a walk-off touchdown to Mecole Hardman in overtime to claim a 25-22 victory at Super Bowl LVIII.

The victory sees Andy Reid’s side become the first back-to-back champions since 2003/2004, and Drake win a fortune.

The Hotline Bling rapper dropped $1.15million (£910,000) on the Kansas City Chiefs to win their third Super Bowl in five seasons and was awarded a massive payout of $2.346million (£1.86million).

“I can’t bet against the Swifties", Drake said on Instagram as the reason for his bet on the Chiefs, with Taylor Swift’s boyfriend Travis Kelce starting for the Kansas outfit at tight end.

A video of the rapper celebrating his winnings has gone viral. You can watch it below.

Drake tends to do well when betting on the Super Bowl, having successfully picked the Chiefs to beat the Eagles in Super Bowl LVII last year on a $700,000 (£554,078) bet.

Moreover, in 2022 he also picked correctly on the showpiece event, placing $472,000 (£373,610) on the Rams to beat the Bengals.

However, Drake has notoriously lost several high-profile wagers over the years.

Last month the God’s Plan star laid down $700,000 (£554million) on Sean Strickland to successfully defend his UFC Middleweight Championship against Dricus Du Plessis in the UFC 297 main event. Strickland went on to lose the belt by unanimous decision.

Moreover, in the NHL’s 2019 playoff series, Drake picked his hometown Maple Leafs to Game 7 against the Boston Bruins. Toronto lost.

That year Drake also threw his support behind Alabama in the CFP National Championship against Clemson, only for the Crimson Tide to be dominated 44-16.

The rapper also threw his support behind Conor McGregor in 2018 for a lightweight title fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

The Irishman tapped out in the fourth round before an infamous crowd brawl ignited after the fight.
