Footage has emerged of a fan attacking WWE superstar Seth Rollins as he was leaving the ring.
You can watch the shocking incident below:
The attacker has since been taken into custody following the incident during Monday's (22 November) show at the Barclays Centre in Brooklyn.
Rollins was up against Finn Balor and after the match, 'The Architect' was walking up the ramp, where a fan appeared to take him out.
A video of the incident was captured by Twitter user @holonails and after Rollins was brought down to the floor, he managed to manoeuvre and capture the fan in a headlock.
Within seconds, security swiftly intervened and the fan was eventually removed from the area.
Rollins is heard shouting: "Come on b****.
"You want to blindside me motherf***er."
In a statement to Metro, WWE said: "WWE takes the safety of its performers very seriously.
"The individual who attacked Seth Rollins has been turned over to the NYPD and will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law."
A spokesperson from New York Police Department identified the fan as 24-year-old Elisah Spencer from Brooklyn, ESPN reports.
He faces charges of attempted assault and attempted violation of arts and cultural affairs (disrupting a live sporting event).
The spokesperson added that Rollins suffered swelling to his lip, but refused medical attention.
WWE recently experienced another safety issue earlier this month, where Randy Orton reached down into a crowd to help a young boy being crushed by other fans at a UK show.
Footage of the incident was uploaded to YouTube by another fan who had been at the event in Birmingham.
According to the description of the video on YouTube, Orton 'checked to see if [a] young fan was ok in the front row', after noticing he 'looked uncomfortable'.
The RAW Tag Team Champion had been greeting people after a match at the Utilita Arena in Birmingham on Friday 5 November when he spotted a youngster in the crowd.
As the footage shows, 41-year-old Orton was surrounded by eager fans hoping to meet him at the end of the Raw roster live event.
As people closed in on the barricade to try and get an interaction with the star, he realised that a boy at the front was being crushed by the throng behind him.
After clocking the child struggling, he immediately dropped his championship belt onto the ground and started gently pushing people back to create more space.
He then leaned down to check on the boy, asking him: "Are you OK?"
A member of security beside him also helped move fans out of the way, as Orton crouched down to have a brief conversation with the young fan.
