WWE star Seth Rollins was praised online for his response to a fan who called him a 'fake' champion during a live event in Miami.

Rollins won the World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions in May, defeating AJ Styles in a critically-acclaimed match.

He has since defended the title against Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio, Bron Breakker and Finn Balor.

Rollins will once again put the belt on the line at SummerSlam on Saturday, where he will once again face Balor in a rematch from the Money in the Bank premium live event.

'The Visionary' is considered the first World Heavyweight Champion, with WWE not carrying over the lineage of the previous title of the same name.

Rollins has been praised for the amount of matches he has taken part in since winning the title, with the American featuring on WWE's three weekly shows - Raw, SmackDown and NXT.

He has been getting strong crowd reactions wherever he wrestles, including in Miami. But he had a perfect response to one fan who didn't take kindly to his performance as champion.

Seth Rollins calls out fan after 'fake' comment

After picking up the microphone, Rollins launched into a monologue where he thanked fans for attending the event - inbetween the mic repeatedly cutting out.

He then picked out one fan in the crowd, before saying: "Being a fighting champion is taking its toll on me.

"One guy over here - that guy. That guy right there, calling me a 'fake-ass champion'."

After his statement was met by a chorus of boos, Rollins continued: "I am here in your city, sweating buckets, bleeding my own blood. I am far from a fake-ass champion.

"I am a fighting champion, because you guys deserve a champion that's going to show up, a champion that's going to bleed his own blood. You deserve a world champion - Seth 'Freakin' Rollins."

You can see the clip below.

Fans took to social media to react to Rollins' response, with one claiming: "Seth is one of the best of the last decade."

Another wrote: "Seth Rollins said, 'I'm gonna end this man's entire career'."

A third added: "Seth is the fighting champion. Fans just want to start stuff."

Others, however, were not quite as impressed at the champion's attempts to get the crowd going in Miami.

One said: "Why even bother calling them out that way? What does Rollins gain?"

Another claimed: "He is. He has the secondary championship compared to Roman Reigns."

Meanwhile, one fan echoed the thoughts of many by tagging Rollins: "You deserve a mic that works."
