A lucky FIFA 20 player has packed Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi and showcased the brilliant new pack-opening animations on Ultimate Team.

EA Sports' latest title in the popular franchise has been released on its subscription-based service EA Access and those who have purchased FIFA 20 Champions Edition.

And Twitter user Jay Alexander has shared footage online, captured from PlayStation 4, of him receiving Messi from an Ultimate Team pack.

The pack animation now starts with a door opening and slowly teases fans of the player they've pulled in theatrical action.

The Argentina flag pops up first before revealing Messi's position of RW and the Barcelona crest.

It ends with the reveal of the Argentine superstar's coveted Ultimate Team card, along with a hilarious entrance of Messi coming into frame.

EA Sports revealed earlier this month that the 32-year-old Barca captain would be the highest-rated non-inform card in FIFA 20.

And fierce rival Cristiano Ronaldo has dropped from his 94 rating in FIFA 19 to a 93 in FIFA 20.

Messi's 94-rated card boasts 87 pace, 96 dribbling, 92 shooting and 92 passing.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner is also the best free-kick taker in FIFA 20 and shares the best passing stat alongside Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne.

Messi on Monday scooped the Best FIFA Men's Player ahead of Ronaldo and Virgil van Dijk.

The Argentina captain admitted that he was "very happy to receive this award," which was his first major individual award since 2015.

He told FIFA: "Like I always say, though, individual awards are secondary to me because it's the team that counts.

"It's a special night because I'm lucky enough to have my wife here and two of my three children as well.

"To be able to enjoy this moment with them is unique."

FIFA 20 will launch on 27th September in the UK for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
