Young fan's shocked reaction to sitting next to LeBron James is incredibly wholesome

As if anyone needed any more proof of just how loved LeBron James is.

One young fan has gone viral after her reaction to finding out she was sitting next to the basketball GOAT was caught online.

CNN reports that a young girl by the name of Gaia had the absolute best seat in the house for the Los Angeles Lakers game against the Warriors.

The NBA's all-time scoring leader was ruled out of the game due to an ankle injury - but he wasn’t going to miss out on the action.

The 12-year-old girl was sitting court side when a man wearing a denim jacket and a green beanie casually strolled past her to take a seat.

Gaia could be seen double-taking as she soon realised who had taken the seat next to her.

LeBron James himself.

Unable to contain her shock and excitement the young fan covered her mouth as she tried to hide her reaction from the big man.

Even while sitting down the NBA legend towered over his seat-neighbour.

The moment was captured by television cameras and shared by the NBA’s Twitter account in a moment that has since gone viral - fans couldn’t get enough of her reaction.

One wrote: “Perfect response for sitting next to the GOAT!”

Another said: “This is the only correct reaction when King James sits next to you.”

A third added: “She no different than me [for real].”

ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters managed to catch a word with Gaia during the game.

Gaia told the reporter: “When he ended up sitting down here, I’m not as tall as him, obviously, so I could only see his shoes.

“Then I look up and I see LeBron James and what’s going through my mind is, ‘Oh my God, the greatest player of all time in basketball is sitting next to me!’

“I just freak out completely, I’m just thinking, ‘Oh my goodness this is like the best moment of my life.’”

That is a completely fair reaction.

Gaia revealed that she had been granted those tickets in hopes of seeing LeBron break his record in that game.

Unfortunately, she didn’t get to see James play at all.

But no doubt this moment made up for that.

After the game, she even got to meet the NBA legend with the Lakers sharing a photo of the two together.
