What happened to the UFC fighter who entered the promotion as an unbeaten prospect before winning six fights in a row inside the famed Octagon?
Gregor Gillespie won seven fights under the Ring of Combat banner before earning a call up to the UFC.
He began his UFC spell with a big win over Glaico Franca in Brazil, improving his overall record to 8-0.
After his UFC debut win, Gillespie recorded a further five victories - all coming inside the distance.
He stopped Andrew Holbrook, Jordan Rinaldi and Yancy Medeiros and produced submission victories over Jason Gonzales and Vinc Pichel.
However, Gillespie suffered a crushing head-kick knockout defeat to Kevin Lee at UFC 244 in what was the first defeat of his professional career.

Over four years have passed since his last appearance without another fight.
UFC fans haven't heard from Gillespie since his post back in May 2022, where he reassured his spot on the UFC roster amid reports of being released.
"Guys, I’m STILL in the UFC relax, I’ll explain," he wrote, before revealing that he is still signed with the UFC despite losing his spot in the rankings.
The American has also been inactive on social media, having not shared a post since August 2023.
Gillespie, who turns 38 next month, hasn't had a fight booked since claiming he was still part of the organisation.

It's not like he's a fighter with a losing record - Gillespie has won 13 of his 14 pro bouts and has looked extremely dangerous in the Octagon, having finished all of his UFC victories.
He is one of the most decorated wrestlers to enter the UFC, further underlining his potential and star power. He was the 2007 NCCA Division I National Champion at 149lbs and a four-time NCAA Division I All-American.
There's no shortage of ways to build him into a star given his stellar wrestling background and stunning performances in the UFC.
But, for some bizarre reason, he hasn't fought in the UFC since 2021.
Former UFC title challenger Chael Sonnen has even commented on Gillespie's UFC disappearance, claiming he won't take certain fights offered to him.
On his YouTube channel, Sonnen also stated that he 'will miss' Gillespie in an ominous update.
