Former UFC bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey made an extremely awkward comment about Joe Rogan on one of his friend’s podcasts.
Rousey, 38, was a trailblazer for women’s mixed martial arts and became the first-ever bantamweight champion in 2012 before going on to defend her crown on six occasions.
The 38-year-old has not fought since losing to Amanda Nunes in 2016, with part of the reason for her absence due to a concussion.
During an interview with BBC Sport in 2024, the American explained how she felt that her brain was “not properly working” before revealing that she was “concussed” going into her 2015 bout with Holly Holm, which she lost via a second-round head-kick knockout.

After leaving the UFC in 2016, Rousey embarked on a career in the WWE, penning a deal with the company in 2018 before leaving the company after five years in October 2023.

Aside from her exploits in combat sports, the 38-year-old has starred in a number of films, including The Expendables 3 in 2014, and Furious 7, as well as playing herself in Entourage.
However, despite not lacing up the gloves in nearly a decade, there have been reports linking Rousey with a potential comeback after she said: “Mike Tyson coming back… proves that I don't think anyone's ever really done.”

But Rousey has since played down speculation about a return to the UFC.
Earlier this week, the 38-year-old appeared on Bert Kreischer’s podcast ‘Bertcast’ during which she covered a range of topics with the American comedian.
Kreischer is a regular guest on Rogan’s podcast, the ‘Joe Rogan Experience’, as well as being a close friend of the UFC commentator.
Predictably, Rogan was brought up, to which Rousey didn’t take kindly, as she described him as “a fan with an audience” who has “never fought” in MMA rather than an expert on the sport.

Technically, Rousey is correct, as the 58-year-old has never competed in professional MMA, although he did have more than 100 taekwondo bouts during his formative years.
This was not the first time Rousey has spoken aggressively about Rogan, as last year she named him when discussing how the media “turned” on her.
“It was really disappointing to see how happily everybody turned on me and how people like Joe Rogan, who were crying in the ring about the honour of being able to call my fights, people I considered friends in the media, so quickly turned on me,” Rousey said on The Chris Cuomo Project.
