Joe Rogan has claimed that UFC lightweight contender Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett uses a ‘genius’ trick to influence opponents during fights - and he has a point.
Rogan, 57, is an MMA expert and has commentated on UFC events for over three decades - so he knows more than most about the sport.
As a result, he has watched on from close quarters and witnessed the rise of the likes of Conor McGregor, Israel Adesanya and several other UFC icons.

And since his UFC debut in September 2021, Pimblett, 30, has grown in popularity and won all seven of his contests in the promotion, with his most recent victory coming at UFC 314 when he forced a stoppage against Michael Chandler in April.
After his most recent triumph, UFC CEO and president Dana White was quick to praise the 30-year-old Liverpudlian.
“People keep counting him out, but he keeps looking better, better, and better every time he shows up,” said White in a press conference.

“Yeah, Paddy Pimblett showed tonight he’s the real deal. Beating Michael Chandler and beating him the way he did, I don’t know how you can’t doubt the kid anymore.”
And Rogan has since claimed that Paddy lulls his opponents into a false sense of security during fights.
“Paddy is a big lightweight,” Rogan said on a recent episode of the ‘Joe Rogan Podcast’ alongside Cameron Hanes.

“I know he gets real fat in between fights, but he’s big. He’s a lot bigger than people think.
“I always say he tricks people by dancing and having silly hair. That’s a killer. He’s tricking you; he’s like one of those bugs that pretends it’s a stick, and then he attacks you."
Rogan added: “I love Chandler as well, and I love Paddy. He’s very impressive. There’s a good argument that the last three guys he fought — Bobby (King) Green, Chandler and Tony Ferguson — he’s fighting guys with losing records, which is true.
"But it’s still very impressive. What he did to Chandler in comparison to what Charles Oliveira did. Oliveira was in real trouble in the third round of their last fight, and in real trouble of the first round of their first fight. Paddy was never in trouble.”
Paddy Pimblett on winning UFC title
After his recent win over Chandler, Pimblett told Bruce Buffer that he just wants to "fight".

“Whoever that one person is that will get me a title shot, I want that fight," he claimed.
“My plan even before the fight was to fight in Abu Dhabi in October.
“I’ve always wanted to fight there. The UFC always do a pay-per-view there in October.
“I just think it would be the perfect time to come back. Recharge my batteries over the summer, keep training every day, keep the weight down, and then go right back into camp in August or September.”
