Conor McGregor Hits Back at Dana White in Now-Deleted Post Over White House Snub

The former UFC champion didn't hold back after Dana White confirmed he wouldn't be on the White House card.

Conor McGregor was quick to respond on social media after Dana White confirmed that the Irishman would not fight on the UFC's White House card.

The UFC will finally return next weekend as a interim lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and fan-favourite Paddy Pimblett headlines UFC 324 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

UFC 324 will kick off what is expected to be a huge year for the MMA organisation, who promise to deliver big shows nearly every week after signing a new $7.7 billion US broadcast partnership with Paramaount+.

In the summer, the UFC plan to host a historic card taking place at The White House, with speculation rife regarding who could feature on the once in a lifetime event.

But, according to UFC boss White, one fight that won't be on the card is McGregor v Michael Chandler, and McGregor clearly isn't happy about it.

Ever since rumours of McGregor's UFC return emerged several years ago, it's long been claimed that Chandler will be his opponent.

After taking part as rival coached in a season of The Ultimate Fighter, the pair were originally scheduled to fight in June 2024 but the fight was called off after McGregor sustained a toe injury.

Since then, both men have called for the fight to finally be rescheduled for the White House card, but UFC President and CEO White isn't convinced.

“No,” White told Complex when asked if he would consider booking McGregor vs. Chandler for The White House.

“That was a couple of years ago. No."

However, White didn't rule out the possibility of McGregor returning at some point in the future, adding: "We’ll see if Conor is gonna come back or not. We’ve been talking about it for a while … we’ll see how it plays out.”

Despite this, it's clear that the comments didn't initially sit well with McGregor, as he lashed out with a now-deleted post on X.

Reacting to the news, the Irishman wrote: "Pick who ya want! The Mac sweats nothin and nobody. I'm TASTY SHOTS."

If McGregor v Chandler isn't the headline bout on The White House card then a number of other big names could be selected to lead the event, with the likes of Jon Jones, Alex Pereira, Sean O'Malley and Max Holloway all linked.

According to White, matchmaking for the event is yet to even begin, with the boss and his team planning to start making their arrangements for The White House after UFC 325 on February 1.
