Conor McGregor has issued an exciting update about his next fight after over four years out of the Octagon.
McGregor, 37, has not fought since he sustained a broken leg during a defeat against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
Last year, the former two-weight UFC champion had a fight scheduled to take place against Michael Chandler before the Irishman pulled out with an injury.
In recent times, McGregor has been involved in various high-profile incidents, including punching a man in an Ibiza bar, being spotted with a mystery woman who wasn’t his wife on a Florida beach, as well as a civil court case.

The Irishman was found liable for the assault of Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel six years ago after a lengthy civil court case in the Republic of Ireland back in November 2024.
Hand was awarded €248,000 (£206,000) in damages. McGregor lost his civil jury appeal.

Since then, a return to the UFC has been touted with several reports suggesting that the 37-year-old could he involved in a UFC event held at the White House.

UFC President Dana White and U.S. President Donald Trump are said to be friends, with the former expressing how, after negotiations, UFC officials had “got it done” in August.
The event, which will mark the 250th anniversary of the country, will likely take place in June 2026 – although no official date has been confirmed.
Several iconic fighters, such as the currently retired Jon Jones, have been rumoured to be interested, while McGregor has all but confirmed that his return will take place at the proposed event.
On Wednesday (October 1), the Irishman was due to appear on Ariel Helwani’s show but pulled out before later appearing on FOX.

When asked about a return to fighting, McGregor said: “It’s a done deal, signed, delivered. End of negotiations. McGregor will compete in the White House for America’s 250th birthday.”
Host Sean Hannity then asked if White approved, to which the 37-year-old replied: “Me and Dana are in constant communications. We’ve done incredible business together. I’m the highest-generating fighter of all time in the Ultimate Fighting Championship.
“They’ve just signed a breathtaking deal with Paramount where we’re going to cable TV. $7.7 billion that deal! I’m ready to rock, baby, bring in the big dog, the Mac!”

Also on Wednesday, McGregor was asked how he planned to get into perfect condition for his proposed return. The Irishman mapped out his “six-month operation” to prepare for the White House event.
"I have eight months and change out to the White House event. It’s a six-month operation," McGregor told reporters at a BKFC 82 press conference.
