Joe Rogan was "close" to conducting a podcast on the top of the Pyramids of Giza but a so-called "conflict of schedule" stopped the episode from happening.

Over the past 15 years, Rogan has welcomed more than 1,000 guests on his The Joe Rogan Experience podcast, including high-profile figures such as Elon Musk, Donald Trump, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and Mike Tyson.

James "Jimmy" Donaldson, who is better known as MrBeast and is the most subscribed creator in YouTube history, has also featured on the JRE podcast in March 2022.

Since his two-and-a-half-hour chat at Rogan's studio in Austin, Texas, Donaldson has achieved an unprecedented level of success, with his YouTube channel currently sitting on 488 million subscribers.

One of his biggest videos in the past 12 months was filmed in Egypt, after the Egyptian Government gave him permission to spend 100 hours inside the world-famous Pyramids of Giza.

A video titled "I Spent 100 Hours Inside The Pyramids!" has more than 225 million views at the time of writing, although that figure could have been higher if MrBeast's audacious plan had come to fruition.

Speaking on Steve-O’s Wild Ride! Podcast, Donaldson says he planned to record with Rogan in Egypt.

“We were this close to doing a podcast with Joe Rogan on top of the pyramid,” he said.

“He couldn’t make it out, he couldn’t make it work. He had a conflict of schedule and I couldn’t move it because the day you get the pyramids are just the f**king days you get the pyramid. I thought it would be so funny.”

“Imagine we’re on top of the middle of the pyramid, it’s just his normal desk and we’re sitting on top on the tip, and we’re just cranking out a podcast," added the YouTuber. "I thought that would have been so cool. You can’t climb there, so we would have had to go up there by helicopter.”

Joe Rogan opens up on 'overwhelming' experience that 'changed' him

Last year, Rogan was joined by Canadian psychologist and author Jordan Peterson. Here, he spoke candidly about fatherhood, revealing it's a "very psychedelic" experience.

His eldest, Kayja Rose, is his adopted daughter from his wife Jessica Ditzel’s previous relationship with the late R&B singer Keven Conner.

Kayja, who was born in 1996, is an R&B artist with tracks like 'Lies' and 'Sleepless Night'.

Rogan and his wife welcomed their first biological daughter following the birth of Lola Grace in 2008. Two years later, their second daughter, Rosy, was born.

While the 57-year-old prefers to keep his family away from the spotlight that comes with his level of popularity, he referenced his children when speaking to Peterson during an emotional podcast episode.

Rogan revealed his "overwhelming desire" for his children, explaining how his "capacity for love changed".

"Dave Chapelle said this to me once, and it was very profound. He said having children did not just change the amount of love I have, it changed my capacity for love." he said.

"It’s a very psychedelic experience. It’s like an overwhelming desire. The love you have for your child, it’s not like anything else. All my damage sh*t came from my real father before I was seven. My real father was crazy, he was like a psychotic person."
