The iconic American golfer did not mention the US president when making his picks despite the pair recently playing together.

Tiger Woods has already named two non-pro golfers who made him ‘lose money’ and it’s not Donald Trump.

Woods, 49, is widely regarded as the greatest golfer of all time having won 15 major championships - including five Masters titles, three U.S. Open titles, four PGA Championship titles, and three Open Championships – during his legendary career.

Several players have formed a rivalry with Woods throughout his time as a professional with the likes of Phil Mickelson, Vijay Singh, Ernie Els, and Rory McIlroy all considered challengers during different periods of the 49-year-old's career.

However, Woods named another player when describing the ‘hardest loss’ he experienced.

“The hardest loss to get over was the Y.E. Yang loss because I had the lead,” Woods said previously when referencing the 2009 PGA Championship at Hazeltine National.

“I had never lost a major championship while leading. That was the first.”

But who are the ‘best’ non-professional golfers the 49-year-old has ever faced?

Well, speaking to Bleacher Report back in 2022 he named his choices. You may expect one of the names mentioned to be Trump, 78, after the pair played together in Florida in February before heading to the Super Bowl LVII clash between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles in New Orleans.

The US president is known to be an avid golfer and even owns multiple courses around the world.

The 78-year-old recently claimed to have won a golf tournament at his Florida club.

“I just won the Golf Club Championship, probably my last, at Trump International Golf Club, in Palm Beach County, Florida," Trump wrote on social media last Sunday.

However, Woods snubbed the president and instead named baseball legend John Smoltz and former NFL star Tony Romo as the best non-pro golfers he has faced.

“It’s either Smoltz or Romo, they both can play golf really well," said Woods when speaking to BR in 2022.

Woods also revealed that he played against Smoltz, Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux when all three were at the Atlanta Braves.

"That was epic,” Woods said. “I shot 62, 63 and lost money.”
