Sam Ryder praised for 'putting Cara Delevingne to shame' with classy Martin Brundle F1 Grid interview

Sam Ryder showed Cara Delevingne how it was done in an interview with Martin Brundle at the Formula One British Grand Prix.

Sam Ryder showed Cara Delevingne how it's done with a classy interview with Martin Brundle on the Formula One Grid Walk.

Brundle is the main for Sky Sports' F1 coverage and regularly takes up position on the grid before events to chat to drivers, celebrities and more.

It's a long-standing tradition and the 64-year-old displays serious hustle and persistence to get one-on-one interviews with some of the biggest names in music, film and TV.

Sometimes, however, it doesn't go to plan and quite often Brundle receives a big custard pie. He experienced it yet again at Silverstone on Sunday as supermodel Cara Delevingne denied him an interview in very awkward fashion.

After he approached Delevingne, a security aide communicated that "she doesn't want to talk", with Brundle replying, "That's the deal now, everybody talks on the grid.

He tried to go direct to the 30-year-old, asking, “Can we have a quick chat at Sky F1? Good to see you on the grid.”

Delevingne said no and shook her head, even claiming, "I can't hear anything, sorry" when the veteran broadcaster and former driver persevered.

In the end, Brundle admitted defeat and sarcastically quipped, “Okay, well, I'm sure it would have been extremely interesting”.

The former ITV and BBC commentator did speak with the likes of Brad Pitt, Liam Payne, Pep Guardiola and Max Verstappen, who won a sixth consecutive victory to move 99 points clear of fellow Red Bull driver Sergio Perez.

But it was his interaction with singer Ryder, the United Kingdom's highest-ranking Eurovision representative, which made everyone smile.

The 34-year-old beamed when he saw Brundle and nearly knocked his microphone off by giving him a huge hug, before providing insight in a fun chat.

Fans praised Ryder for a very different response to the one seen by Delevingne.

One stated: "Martin Brundle scientifically proving Sam Ryder is an infinitely better person than Cara Delevingne.

A second wrote: "Sam Ryder was elated to see the legend Martin Brundle on the grid and gave his insight in an impressive manner while wearing a big smile.

A third added: "Sam Ryder being a lovely human to Martin Brundle and being excited to be interviewed by him is not surprising at all!

Another user said: "Sam Ryder is the happiest Jesus you will find. Having the time of his life and delighted to see Martin Brundle. You love to see it.

A fifth opined: "The difference between Sam Ryder & Cara Delevingne on the Martin Brundle grid walk was like night & day

A sixth had the same view, writing: "Cara Delevingne has gone down in everyone’s books now after being a rude to Martin Brundle, be more like Sam Ryder.

A final user fumed: "Cara Delevingne snubbing Martin Brundle really. At least Sam Ryder was a better person."
